When: Saturday, August 3, 2024, 11:00 AM HST
Where: Kettle Pond Day-Use Lot, 7047 State Forest Rd, Groton, VT
Hares: Borscht Canal and How I Met Your Mother
What to bring: $10 (lunch on trail!) hash cash, monstrous attire, an understanding of the word rumpus, bug juice, sunscreens, muddy shoes.
What not to bring: tea kettles, kettle bells, kettle chips, ketle one
Mother sent Borscht to bed without anything to eat so there’s no telling what our hangry hares are going to do deep in the Gorton Forest! The only way to combat our cantankerous trail captains is to turn the whole trail into a wild rumpus! Bring your terrible teeth and your terrible eyes, your terrible roars and terrible claws because this rumpus is to going to be full of monsters.
We’ll start our rumpus from the Kettle Pond Day-Use Parking Lot where the boaters and hikers park. But don’t worry, no private boats needed. And in order to avert a hunger hullabaloo, all Wild Things on trail will be given lunch (since we don’t believe in sending you anywhere without something to eat). I’ve been told this won’t be a death march, so cross your fingers, toes and tails that we’re not being lied to. …And now I’m running out of references from the book and clever alliterations to use, so I’ll put a pause on this already ponderous and pleonastic post.
This is part of our summer campout weekend! Want to stay for the day or even overnight on Saturday? Check out the Tramp Camp page for more information and let us know.
